AARO Held Closed Workshop With Outside Experts, DefenseScoop Reports

The Pentagon's All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office held a closed workshop with outside experts to help shape federal research priorities on unidentified anomalous phenomena, DefenseScoop reported March 16.

The Defense Department has not disclosed the session's date, location, participant roster, or agenda. Neither DoD nor UFO", covering any airborne object that cannot be immediately identified.">UAP across air, sea, space, and sub-surface domains.">AARO responded to DefenseScoop's requests for comment, the outlet reported.

The invite-only format represents a departure from AARO's recent public engagement efforts. Since its establishment, the office has provided congressional briefings and, in 2023, launched an online portal for military and civilian witnesses to submit UAP reports directly.

Congress created AARO in 2022 under the National Defense Authorization Act to coordinate detection, analysis, and resolution of unidentified anomalous phenomena across military and intelligence domains. Lawmakers and advocacy groups have criticized the office for what they characterize as slow-moving investigations and insufficient transparency.

DefenseScoop did not identify workshop participants or describe specific topics addressed. It remains unclear whether the session produced formal recommendations or policy guidance.

UFOPress has filed a Freedom of Information Act request for records related to the workshop. This report will be updated as documents become available.
